MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR BAPTISM /

Parents, please request the baptism for your child at least a month in advance of the schedule ceremony, there must be an interview with a staff member.

Arrange your appointment by calling the Parish Office at 631-234-6535.

1.- A copy of the Birth Certificate of the Child is presented to ensure correct information for church records.

2.- The date of the ceremony is selected.

3.- The godparents (sponsors) are named.

4.- *Testimony of designated sponsors. (Forms are given to parents at the interview. These must be filed at least two (2) weeks before the Baptism Class).

¿COMO PREPARAR SU BAUTIZO?

Los padres del niño/a deben pedir el bautizo con al menos un mes de anticipación. Deben tenen una entrevista con la Señora Yanira Copland.

Agende su entrevista llamando a la oficina parroquial al (631) 234-6535.

1.- Una copia del certificado de nacimiento del niño/a is requerido para asegurarnos que los archivos tengan la información correcta.

2.- Seleccione la fecha para la ceremonia.

3.- Tiene que traer los nombres de los padrinos .

4. El Testimonial de los padrinos se requiere dos semanas antes del bautizo. Las formas se le daran a los papás en la entrevista.

SELECTION OF GODPARENTS (SPONSORS)

Godparents must be Catholics who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation and be living in conformity with church teaching. If it's a couple, they must be married by the Catholic Church. No cohabited people or civilly married can be godparents.

Only one godparent is required; if two godparents are chosen -one is male, the other female. 

in the case of two godparents, one must be Catholic with all necessary requirements, one can be a non-Catholic Christian and give "Christian Witness" at the ceremony.

If Godparents (sponsors) are registered at another parish, they must have the Testimonial Forms signed from the parish in which they worship.

ELECCION DE LOS  PADRINOS

Pueden ser padrinos los Católicos  que ya hayan recibido los sacramentos del Bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación y que viven de acuerdo a las enseñenseñanzas de la iglesia. Si es una pareja, tienen que ser casados por la Iglesia Católica. No pueden ser padrinos aquellos que estén solo casados civilmente o en unión libre.

Puede bautizar con un solo padrino o madrina; en caso de que elija a dos que no sean casados y que estén solteros tiene que ser un hombre y una mujer.

En caso de que haya uno que no es católico, será registrado como testigo cristiano y el otro debe ser católico.

Si los padrinos son miembros de otra parroquia, el Testimonial debe ser firmado por su párroco 

BAPTISM CLASS

Scheduled Third Tuesday of the Month

Time: 7:00 - 8:00PM

Place: Parish Office

Parents and Godparents (sponsors) MUST attend the Baptism Class in the time period before the date of the baptism.

If, for any reason, you cannot attend the class on the scheduled date, please call the Parish Office at 631-234-6535.

CLASE PRE-BAUTISMAL

La clase se imparte el segundo sábado del mes.

Hora: 5:00pm

Lugar: Pequeña Cafetería (en el sótano de la capilla).

OFFERING AT THE BAPTISM CEREMONY

The customary donation to church is a minimum of $50.00; Please make checks payable to St. John of God Church.

OFRENDA PARA EL DIA DEL BAUTISMO

Se recomienda dar una donación de al menos $50.00. Si su donación es por cheque, asegúrese  de que sea escrito a nombre de  St. John of God Church.

DAY OF THE CEREMONY

We encourage you to invite your family and friends to come to the church for your child's baptism. Please gather fifteen minutes before the ceremony.

EL DIA DE LA CEREMONIA

Les recomendamos sobre la importancia de invitar a sus familiares y amigos al bautizo de sus hijos/as. Favor de llegar 15 minutos con anticipación.
